Rhonda Harrison graduated from Boston University Bioinformatics Program in 2004, marking two major milestones: Rhonda was the first woman and first Black person to earn a PhD in bioinformatics in the United States. 


"Rhonda Harrison (ENG’98,’04, GRS’04), the CEO of Biopharmix Consulting, says she is working to foster diversity in STEM workplaces and to inspire students. “I hope to do for young people what I had done for me some 40 years ago, when someone came to me and said, ‘Hey, this is what a scientist looks like, and you can be one, too.’”
