Alan Pacheco Awarded 2017 Ford Foundation Fellowship

Congratulations to Bioinformatics PhD student Alan Pacheco! Alan was awarded a prestigious Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship. The fellowships are awarded in a national competition administered by the National Research Council (NRC) on behalf of the Ford Foundation. Alan is working in the Segrè lab, studying how antibiotics shape the behavior and stability of microbial communities. His hopes to harness this knowledge to design novel synthetic communities that perform complex functions.
